Ordered this the last time it was $15. The body is plastic. The first one came cracked. The second one had a terrible burning plastic smell. Returned them both.

I bought this also last time it was posted , it's decent at warming but a very fragile unit. I shook it violently to clean it out. Ended up breaking something internally. Had to get a replacement

I have the 4 slice version of this toaster and it has been pretty great so far. No bad smells and it is quite powerful. Had to adjust the toasting time on some breads.

Most toasters have metal heating filaments, like a thicker filament from an old-school lightbulb. Like those filaments, they are rather fragile especially after they've been heated up and cooled down a bunch. The problem was shaking it violently. Just don't do that.
