Appreciate any advice!
I bought a fire TV about 4 months ago, I have noticed that it doesn't even shut off when you hit the power button. The screen goes dark but it's always on and snooping any way it can.

Crazy how few reviews this TV has. 20 on BestBuy, 13 on Amazon.
plus, how much more complicated is it with an e-arc setup (to a receiver), and the multiple remotes? idk i'm not seeing much in the way of pros but noticed it seems like fewer manufacturers are making them since roku brought out their own lineup so i don't really see much in the way of other choices, particularly as you hit higher-end features like full-array dimming, mini-led, etc. is that just what everyone who prefers roku is doing? getting whatever smart tv platform, and then just separate rokus, and using hdmi-cec to reduce the remotes?
idk i guess i just someone would be actually helpful and point me to the roku tv version of this tv, assuming one existed, instead of the obvious workaround. my bad
Roku is user friendly but basic. Great for old folks but not really best for those looking for top performance from their panel. Like there are no Roku OLEDs for instance. Or many high end-ish Roku LCDs either. So if you like that OS and want the best panel you need to use an external streamer.
As for number of remotes yes that is kind of true but most people using an external streamer are not typically using the internal apps too. So they wouldn't really need the tv remote that often once it is dialed in. The streamer remote can typically turn the tv on, switch inputs, and adjust volume for the tv at least.
I use a receiver though as my switching device and prefer my TV's dumb and good looking haha. They last longer too if you don't stress the SOC. Especially the cheaper TV's with limited processing to begin with.
Seems GTV and fire have taken that market share from Roku for TV OS at least. Open eco system and more configurable basically. Roku wants $$$ to get your app on it. Like how Apple wasn't on it for a long while. Which was BS. Why be beholden to that crap if you don't have to? Meh. That said I recommend Roku to my parents haha as they know how to use it and like simple. I just wish you could get a better tv with it these days.

For $420 you can't go wrong here in my opinion. Much better than expected at this price point, exceeded my expectations.
Crazy how cheap TVs have gotten. I think my first flat screen was a 37" Olevia I got for $600 after waiting in a line on Black Friday. LOL
