I figured someone would beat me to posting this. This is essentially 3 different "25 Lionsgate Films" packs broken out, which allows you to upgrade HD copies to 4K in Vudu/Fandango at Home, or cherry pick the best if you have none. There appear to be 74 movies in total, with Seeking Justice being in both the Nic Cage and Action collections. Around 1/3 of these movies are basically crap, but there's also a lot of good stuff too.

An anomaly is Retribution. In the Lionsgate Action Bundle, it's the 2023 Liam Neeson film, while this collection is a 2006 Japanese film. Both are Lionsgate, so I suspect Fanflix indeed has the Japanese film here.

Essentially, this is:

1) Nicolas Cage The 25-Film Massive Collection
2) Lionsgate 25 MOVIE ACTION COLLECTION
3) 25 Horror Classics

I also assembled the list of movies with 4K / HD and Rotten Tomatoes score. The RT scores are quite representative of the general quality of the film, as much as I hate to recommend based on critics scores. For instance, It Follows is one of my favorite modern horror films, and I'm not surprised to see it so highly rated.

Terrible selection. Of the 74 film choices, I'd have a hard time finding 5 I'd want to see.
The second movie was "Lord of War" which is terrific. It did not get better from there.
Nicolas Cage is in a LOT of movies. Between buying crazy stuff and starring in movies does have time for anything else?

If I stretch & get so-so stuff, I can find 18 titles, but I don't buy non-MA stuff on anything other than iTunes. Since FanFlix stopped having iTunes redemptions, I only buy MA-studio stuff (e.g. Warner Bros, Universal) from them. I have so many titles now it's hard to find stuff I don't have, so oh well.

You're welcome! I own the 25 Action Film pack and a couple others, so I had to put the list together so I didn't accidently buy doubles. Since I went through the trouble to assemble it, I might as well share.

Wow. Horrible titles. Only picked 2 of the bunch. 😒

While I do appreciate we can build our own 25, it doesn't help when there's not much that people would actually want to see. Oh well, saved $25.
Here are the 7 best films IMO along with their IMDB rankings. There are probably 8 or so decent films ranked above 6.5. But admittedly, the rest of the selection is crap. Buy ~15 good films and get 10 lousy ones for $25? Your call.

Kick-Ass - 7.6
Lord of War - 7.6
The Bank Job - 7.2
The Courier - 7.2
Deepwater Horizon - 7.1
The Mist - 7.1
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent - 7.0

If you're building a bundle and you want to sell me a pair of license keys for The Courier and The Mist for $4, just send me a DM.

Correct, however they all could stink.

Criminal to not include IT Follows. Once of the best horror films in past 10 years. Ha

You can chose any 25 movies, just as long as it stars Nicholas Cage... Big Grin

It astounds me how many people claim to be horror fans and somehow missed one of the top 10 of the past 15 years. It Follows is the best film of this bunch.

Also, the disparity between the IMDB and critic scores on RT and Metacritic is proof that IMDB is an awful way to get recommendations for movies. Look at the top 25 movies for instance. Mostly action movies. Its just a popularity contest.

It Follows, like Blood Father, are mired in the mid 6 ratings as far as IMDB is concerned. If you don't want to follow those rankings and the hundreds of thousands of voters that embody their algorithm, that's your prerogative.

Not a hill I'm willing to die on. Metacritic vs. IMDB vs RT vs insert your favorite. I don't even think we're really in disagreement. It Follows would be an automatic part of a hypothetical 25 movie bundle from this sale, for sure. It's right there (6.8 rating) as far as my sample top 7 ratings and has great critic reviews. Plus horror and comedy movies normally do more poorly when judged by numerical rankings. But regardless, it isn't like It Follows couldn't have been better. Using your favorite reference, It Follows was #11 of the best horror movies of the 2010s. Quite a delta between RT and Popcornmeter (audience) reviews. Flip the coin and RT is lukewarm on Lord of War. Seriously? That's indefensible. It Follows simply isn't a movie worth soapboxing for.

PS. LIFE is a popularity contest!
