These appear to be all Lionsgate films and therefore are not MA compliant.

I figured someone would beat me to posting this. This is essentially 3 different "25 Lionsgate Films" packs broken out, which allows you to upgrade HD copies to 4K in Vudu/Fandango at Home, or cherry pick the best if you have none. There appear to be 74 movies in total, with Seeking Justice being in both the Nic Cage and Action collections. Around 1/3 of these movies are basically crap, but there's also a lot of good stuff too.

An anomaly is Retribution. In the Lionsgate Action Bundle, it's the 2023 Liam Neeson film, while this collection is a 2006 Japanese film. Both are Lionsgate, so I suspect Fanflix indeed has the Japanese film here.

Essentially, this is:

1) Nicolas Cage The 25-Film Massive Collection
2) Lionsgate 25 MOVIE ACTION COLLECTION
3) 25 Horror Classics

I also assembled the list of movies with 4K / HD and Rotten Tomatoes score. The RT scores are quite representative of the general quality of the film, as much as I hate to recommend based on critics scores. For instance, It Follows is one of my favorite modern horror films, and I'm not surprised to see it so highly rated.

You can have any movie you want - as long as it features Nick Cage!

This is one of the worst selections I've ever seen. I found maybe 6 movies I'd want, and I already own 4 of them. I'll pass.

This is literally just the worst movies from the recent 3 other bundles of 25 for 25.
- First is the Lionsgate bundle (which Apples has right now for $25)
- Next is the horror set
- then the last is the Nicholas Cage set

The fact that they're all Fandango Now (with a ver small percentage for Google Play) seems like an important detail left off...
If you use Google Play on the 5 or so titles that allow it, 4K transfer is not possible.

It astounds me how many people claim to be horror fans and somehow missed one of the top 10 of the past 15 years. It Follows is the best film of this bunch.

Also, the disparity between the IMDB and critic scores on RT and Metacritic is proof that IMDB is an awful way to get recommendations for movies. Look at the top 25 movies for instance. Mostly action movies. Its just a popularity contest.
I'd say this has more to do with the genre than anything. Most people are looking for the same thing when it comes to action movies. Genres like horror and comedy are much more about personal preference. Honestly though, it's all preference though. That's what ratings are supposed to be. It should be no surprise that generally more agreeable genres have higher ratings on average.

As for IMDB vs Metacritic vs RT on their ratings, I'd say IMDB is a more reliable scale than RT. I've seen some very disappointing movies with excellent RT scores, meanwhile movies like Gladiator (80), Lord of War (62), Hook (29) are rated too low IMO. Not that these are the best movies, but certainly underrated when compared with other RT scores.

I get that Lionsgate isn't MA, but at least give us the option for Apple redemption if we have to choose only one service

Terrible selection. Of the 74 film choices, I'd have a hard time finding 5 I'd want to see.
