I have this, very nice controller for the money.

Had to upgrade the firmware to get it working with Switch 2 but it was fairly straightforward.

Simply go to support.8bitdo.com and download the updater.

It does not wake the console from sleep FYI.

It seems with the Ultimate 2C Wireless is not compatible then? Is Hall effect really that much more noticeable you think as guest controllers for friends for Mario kart.
Hall Effect is about longevity since its drift-proof. It will be noticeable against non-Hall Effect joysticks in about a year or so since those will start getting drift while Hall Effect ones will not.

How does this and the 2c compare to the switch 2 pro controller?
its about the same other than the "GameChat" button and back paddle buttons on the Official Switch 2 Pro Controller

just way more affordable

Still would recommend getting a controller with Hall Effect sticks to have the best longevity and experience (since its drift-proof). Nintendo's Pro 2 Controller is a rip-off and has no Hall Effect sticks (so it will start having drift in a year or so and will need to be replaced).

Can you remap the buttons in the Switch's settings? I've only found that this version of the controller isn't compatible with 8bitdo's app and pc software for remapping.

Why is this junk on the FP all the time? Are they dumping half of their marketing budget to SD to promote?

These are much more comfortable than the two joycons in the black thing. These are larger and have a more natural angle to hold them.
I finally bought the track pack for Mario kart 8 deluxe and my hands are cramping so I've been playing that all the time. It feels like a brand new Mario kart game I can't wait for them to finally lower the price to $169 in 6 months for the switch 2

Just picked two of these up for my Nintendo Switch 2 and in order for it to work you need to update the firmware. Here's a short video that walks you though it. https://youtube.com/shorts/JRVii-...VTnG-PfqRg

It does work with the Nintendo switch 2. Just bought 2 for Mario kart world but you have to update the firmware. https://youtube.com/shorts/JRVii-...VTnG-PfqRg

Here is where the confusing part is. This is the 2C Bluetooth. They have 2C wireless which is $25 now. I think 2C wireless is not compatible.

Yes, several.

The step up from this one is the Ultimate 2C Bluetooth controller, it has Hall Effect sticks is fully compatible with Switch 1 and 2

It does have hall effect sticks. The 2C has extra buttons and different connectivity.
