OLED will be the better TV, but since you've got bright light coming in, Mini-LED will be situationally better.

If it were me, I'm getting the OLED and window treatments to deal with the direct light and have the better panel... but that's just me.

If you can afford the 83" OLED, it's worth a look! But with that bright light, I'd save money and stick with the TCL 85"... it's an excellent value and will have noticeably higher peak brightness.

Is there a big difference in viewing angles between this mini led and OLED (LG C3 or C4). This is all I really care about and the main reason why I've been looking to upgrade to OLED.

This seems ultra-decent for the price, but I'm still holding out for a similar price on the 85" QM8
(I...forget why, # of zones or something, but previous research told me "don't settle for less than this one" lol)

QLED is nothing like OLED. Better do some Googling.

Here's the rtngs comparison: https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...7973/60899

The QM8 is brighter w/ more dimming zones, but TBH I dunno if that's worth the current $400 difference (if you just want a huge tv on a budget)

As long as you don't settle for a 6-series, I think you'll be perfectly fine Smilie

Far from it. OLED is in a different (better) league.

No. The QM7 is still significantly better than the QM6K.

If you're only using this as a very basic tv, the specifications are ok for the price, but read up on it if you have any kind of automation eg a Harmony remote, ARC, Anynet/HDMI-CEC, because it lacks much functionality and won't play well. It understands very very basic input commands like if you have a coffee table full of remotes and step by step configure your activity

Not contradicting this, but do these sets have any less capability in that regard than other Smart TVs?

I used to have a Harmony Remote setup + receiver, but moved away from that in favor it the default remote + higher-end soundbar + basic eARC functionality...and haven't noticed any difference between manufacturers/OS'/etc. functionality-wise (aside from "how does it handle eARC?"

Are these TCLs different than (say) LG or Hisense sets in the same range?
