If it were me, I'm getting the OLED and window treatments to deal with the direct light and have the better panel... but that's just me.

Samsung s95 is best for living room with bright sun light
Looks great but way outta budget
lol, if you like purple blacks maybe. But for those of us in the real world, it is a terrible choice for daytime viewing in a bright room. See Rtings.com "cons' section.

This is a major problem with QD-OLED that they have yet to solve. I ignored this section of Rtings thinking it couldn't be that bad, but nope, right back to the store it went.
HUGE difference. I have a 77 C2 OLED and a 98" QM7. The viewing angles are really bad on the QM7. I would not get it at all for a wide seating area

There is a HUGE difference in viewing angles. In one room, we have a little loveseat that comes off the wall about 20° from where the TV is. We thought it would be useless for viewing, but the OLED doesn't even show a drop in color or any kind of dimming at that angle. It's pretty amazing.

(I...forget why, # of zones or something, but previous research told me "don't settle for less than this one" lol)
You can update the qm7 to the QM8 firmware which makes a huge difference. I was in the same boat waiting for the QM8, got the 7 recently and have had to turn the brightness way down because it burns my eyes out otherwise. My last tv hit about 1k nits and i always kept it maxed out, but 1500-2k really is obnoxiously bright.
Anyone here had to make a claim with either?

Heard great things about geek squad!
Oh jeez, didn't realize (foolishly) that the TV claim would be handled by Geek Squad.
Now the question is how is Asurion warranty.
The only benefit I see of going with Best Buy is that open box, excellent is $540 for the 65"

Heard good things about asurion as well. Either one I think it'll be a great choice!
I used to have a Harmony Remote setup + receiver, but moved away from that in favor it the default remote + higher-end soundbar + basic eARC functionality...and haven't noticed any difference between manufacturers/OS'/etc. functionality-wise (aside from "how does it handle eARC?"
Are these TCLs different than (say) LG or Hisense sets in the same range?
What's a higher end sound bar options? Thx

Best high end one dollar for dollar right now is the Samsung Q990 series. You can get the Q990D (2024 version) for $600-$800 pretty regularly depending on what discounts you have access to. Do a Slickdeals search for recent/current sales.
If you've got time, any other thoughts/comparisons between the two?
