The upgrades only last until your membership expires though. Maybe the math works out if you are already wanting to pay for online and can split it with 4-5 people
Wish they had Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey. I just got a Switch 2 and never owned a Switch 1, so want to play these classics
If you have a Costco membership you can get a $100 Nintendo eShop gift card for $90. Use the gift card to buy the Nintendo Game Vouchers. Both BotW and Odyssey are games that you can redeem vouchers for, so you can get both out the door for $45 each this way.

Is Kirby and the Forgotten Land good for a 35 year old lol? I like a good challenge but also love Zelda and Mario. Thinking about picking it up for the Switch 2 edition.

When first party Nintendo games are added to Woot for the first time, their first batch are the US variant and don't have the disclaimer. After that, it's the UAE variant with that disclaimer. I bought Donkey Kong Country Returns and Xenoblade Chronicles X when they first came to Woot and both were the US variant. First party titles that are sold on Woot for a while and have that disclaimer is usually the UAE variant. There are rare cases that they'll ship you a EU variant. It depends on the game.
Interesting. So what Switch titles look newly added to Woot on this front have you noticed as of now?

How are these game still so expensive? Yikes. Aren't there cheaper options?
Return to Dream Land might not be some ultra realistic open-world powerhouse. But it is among the best optimized Switch games ever, a lesson in performance the vast majority of developers could learn much from.

I love Kirby but have to admit this one was a little disappointing. I don't know if it's the game or me, or what. I didn't think I'd say this but I think I prefer Return to Dreamland. I will say I think Forgotten Land has some very average music, which is probably a big part of it for me.

If you have a Switch 1 in the household, it's obvious why to get the Switch1 game plus $20 upgrade. You can play it on both consoles vs the Switch 2 game, you would only be able to play it on your Switch 2. If you only have a Switch 2 and don't ever plan on getting a Switch 1 for whatever reason then, it doesn't matter....your Game Card will say Switch 2 I guess?
There is an upgrade tax? I see where the industry is headed. It's a nickel-and-dime for every effort, even ones that are relatively minimal. Every effort is treated like it's from scratch. DLC, editions, mind you digitals have yet to be saleable by consumers to sell to other consumers, their disdain for consumers to sell their borrowed license to monopolize their sales to new customers.
My best advice to SD, buy games you play now, and don't mindlessly keep buying to satisfy time being wasted. Because no matter what that satisfaction will never be met. It's a discipline to enjoy moderately some games and do something else. Find a fixed weekly max time for games and finish a game, don't jump to other things. You will save more money with meaningful games you play than own a library of ones you will get to. That's how engineering works, it will be hard to fight against what hundreds of engineers has done to make one addicted. If Nintendo currency are in bulks of $40-$60, do the math. That's a lot of money to spend. Spend wisely, buy a couple, and make sure one finds balance in nondigital world for mental health. Video games are cool, Nintendo has very well designed games, but it's not THAT cool to own them all. At the Nintendo price, go for 3-4 games, dlc and all. Cheaper than addiction to library ownership. Best luck to switch 2 owners.
All of the people who thumbs down me don't remember actual slickdeals on here. You can get most of these games already for 3 bucks more or less all over the web. I will never in my life come on here giving praise to $40 switch games. Check my past comments I tells no lies. hot wheels metal case, Pikmin 4, killer queen black, cruising blast, risk of rain 2, Bayonetta origins, cowanunga collection, puyo Tetris, tony hawk pro skater and more bought for $30 bucks or less. Half I haven't even played and won't until I'm dead. Don't believe the hype. Buy switch games cheap. Get off my lawn.
Indeed first party titles WERE $30. My. Switch 1 library most all were $30 when I bought it. They have made the decision to make what was $30 to $40. But I believe target msrp is not $60 but $80-$90. That depends on the economic response. I have a feeling there is strong enough response to warrant price increase, it's inelastic enough that they probably won't do Nintendo select as they had. The industry decided that hurt their sales, so they don't want to cheapen it.
You can observe this with fighting games. They delisted older games rather than list it at cheap price. And the sales for when they are cheap won't be until end of life of the game. This will be new norm. Delay cheap keys, and retire them on a new platform. It's the industry way of those running the business side. You choose to agree to it or not. I think it's a good time to clock out, I love video games but that's when it was accessible. Now, it has become a symbol for wealth to own consoles or PC. I move to what most ppl can do cheaply, and now that's the things digitals can't. Sensory development in things non-screen. Thats tough in an age of screen time but remember, somebody engineered us to be addicted. Whether you become the sheep, you can find a way out. And it always starts with an innocent start, no matter your path.

Likely UAE copies. Will work fine to play, but if you plan to resell your games to retailers like GameStop, it's likely to be rejected.
A lil PSA for selling UAE to gstop. Just bring the cart and not the case. The UAE carts still tend to say/list USA on the cart itself. Without the case noone would know.
