Hmmm, Amazon has these for the same price, probably easier returns if not happy.

Hifiman does not charge sales tax, if I remember correctly.

At this price range, the Edition XS is probably a better buy at $269

Darn, wish the Anandas which are currently on sale for $280, were available as refurbs!

This is actually a very common practice in the audio industry---"refurbs" "B-stock" and "open box" are often just brand new items marked down for the bargain hunters, so that those who are willing to pay "regular" price can continue to do so.

Can you elaborate on this. I have a pair for a couple years now and they continue to work flawlessly.

Depends what climate you live in and how sweaty you get, you might have to buy new earpads after a year of use.

Mine still works after 4 years.
