https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/panasonic/w95a Panasonic W95A Review (TV-55W95AP, TV-65W95AP, TV-75W95AP, TV-85W95AP) - RTINGS.com

The Panasonic W95 is a good TV overall. Unfortunately, it's really held back by the fact that you can't use local dimming and VRR simultaneously, so you have to choose between the best possible image quality or a tear-free gaming experience while using its True Game picture mode. This is unusual, and you can get similar and even better Mini LED TVs like the Hisense U8/U8N, the TCL QM8/QM851G QLED, and the Sony BRAVIA 7 QLED that don't make you decide between those two options.

Panasonic re-entered the market after a hiatus in North America and they their TVs are good quality, but the damage they did to their brand hurt their sales and they are deep discounting their current line. Hopefully they try harder on the next batch of TVs because in my opinion they rival Sony for picture quality.

I'm sure the actual lcd panels are not, but this new venture back into TV's should be in fact Panasonic. I mean they could possibly have the entire thing subbed out to another manufacturer, but if so, should still be to their design/spec/etc. In other words I don't think it's simply a case of someone licensing their name to slap on whatever product, with a similar end result as these companies that buy once big now defunct names and slap them on cheap junk. Just speculation based on what little behind the scenes info that is out there, which isn't a whole lot.For raw spec and performance on these, really can't go wrong at this price and should be a very good buy. Choosing to go with fire vs google or Roku is a bummer though. At more normal prices, I'd opt for a Hisense U8 or TCL Q8 series for a high performing cheap set.
How would you compare it to this cheap TCL? Looking for a TV for my PS5 on the cheaper side for now. Thanks so much.

Not sure it was "damage", they just stuck to plasma too long & didn't follow with making cheaper tvs.

I'm hoping Costco picks up their Oled displays, they are considered one of the best! 🙏🏼
The "damage" was them leaving the North American market for many years, they hurt their brand name recognition and now have to rebuild it after this year's attempt to re-enter. Most people, as you can see from this thread even, don't know Panasonic TVs, but for someone like me who has been buying their stuff for decades, it's a great boon to have them back.

I would get the Panasonic, it's mini LED which is a big difference for contrast, the TCL is good, but this model is more in line with their budget offerings.

In for 5.
I did this on a previous deal and sold what I didn't want for a little extra over my cost per unit. I took the risk and others saved on their cost.

i'm reading this tv doesn't play well with soundbar setups, which is a bummer. Something to consider.
I have this tv running arc to my onkyo receiver with zero issues.

not sure how widespread it is, i've just read it on a couple review sites where people have complained about the sound bar not turning back on after the tv turns off.

Well you're kinda making my point.
You understand the brand wasn't damaged, it's been a good brand for decades.

As you can see, even in this thread, people are judging their recognition(damaged or not) by the usual factors.

Like you I am glad they're back in the US and hopefully their pricing will be competitive, especially with their Oled displays!

Well no, the brand's reputation is mostly fine, but the RECOGNITION from America Consumers is damaged, and brand recognition if you will is what is damaged, so my point remains the same.

I have a soft spot for Panasonic tvs. We had a beautiful 65" plasma that still puts out an amazing picture. I gave it to my parents when we got an oled
