Wanted some as planters but also thought of another spot I could use it and make a longer version and not do a larger planter I had designed.
I do wish it had cross braces and the black edging that some have. But these are $20. I'll see what I can kludge together for that. Might be able to make the "LTB 19-1/2 in. 22-Gauge Galvanized Tension Bridging" from Home Depot work. They are only 48 cents each. Or some threaded rod and some nuts could do it.
Is now @ $29.99

I use PT to build some raised beds, it isn't cheap but is way more sturdy than half of these el cheapo metal ones. I know, I own some. They bend easily, and some cannot take soil (expansion with rain) and bulge/warp. I use PT lumber and an oil based stain. I do not plant within 1" of the edge of the bed, but what gardener would? I like the little metal ones for plants my mother likes to raise that I hate. She is getting older, so the raised beds make it easy for her to still be in the garden and feeling productive. With wood you make it whatever size and height you want, but if you make it huge make sure to have some friends help you move them.

Thanks for the link. The info on treated wood is all over the place. So, I was interested in the targeted studies from reputable institutions.
I have raised beds built with composite (Trex) and concrete end pieces.

Just make sure you get PT that is rated for ground contact. It is preserved much better than the non ground contact version. It is a little pricier, but worth it.
