Same price at REI for a few weeks. For those unaware, you need a subscription with it which can go up to around 70/month depending on how many messages and tracking frequency you want. Yes, you can pause and thaw the subscription, but you're paying for the full month. I've had it with me on some high peaks and some long expeditions and it mostly worked. Sometimes it takes 5 seconds to send a message, sometimes an hour, depending on satellite positioning.

To those saying that TMobile offers satellite comm, it's fair, the technology is improving and this is a fairly antiquated product with no r&d. But a cell's battery will die quickly in the wild and you can't quite plug it in. During a mountaineering expedition, you need your devices to handle the cold and last a long time.

I have the V1 and it is clunky and slow but it works. If I were to get one now I'd get the Inreach Communicator
