Very tempting… how do these compare in comfort vs Ultraboosts?

RunRepeat (79/100): Extremely plush, breathable, good for mid/forefoot strikers; downsides include poor durability and low energy return .

With Runrepeat's scoring system a rating of 79 is considered an awful score. Just LOL. I had the previous version of the Propel, the V4. It's suitable for walking but not for running. The V4 did not sell well and was widely panned by runners. The V5 is worse than the V4 from a functional standpoint and the unappealing visual aesthetics rule it out for even casual use cases.

If you're someone that has achilles problems with overly cushy shoes, these might cause problems. I have a hard time standing in them for long before I start getting heel pain. I agree on your summary of them. They just don't seem to be good at anything.

I have a pair of the v4. I found them too soft for daily running (at 160ish lbs). They turned in to general/work shoes. You can find new balances pretty cheap at Joe's new balance outlet, which has extra coupons on top of sale prices often.

The midsole just did not return any energy whatsoever. The Endorphin Speed 3 was in my rotation along with the Propel V4. The midsole squish between these models was comparable but the Propel had no bounce and felt bottom heavy. I actually disliked both of these shoes for different reasons. I remember the hype over the Propel V4 that claimed it was a "giant killer" that would displace the Endo Speed. Obviously that turned out to be a bunch of BS.
