Why? The OPs selection seems like the better option - faster, more cores, etc? What am i missing?
Because people see X3D and assume its the best. There are instances where it is not (4k and up to include triples): https://youtu.be/F7HmAv8bFqE?t=605

There are a lot of instances where they are the fastest. The struggle is finding what game you're playing and what monitor you're on. X3D is not, by any means a bad decision. Its also not always the best.

Looking to upgrade from an i7 6700k. I use mine for mostly work, sometimes video editing, and sometimes gaming. I've having trouble deciding which chip? Would a 7700x be better for productivity? Or would the L3 cache on the 7600x3d benefit me for video editing? Any help would be appreciated.
The 7700X is demonstrably better for video editing than either 7800x3d and by extension the 7600x3d.

People who advocate for X3d above everything else are supported by 1080p playback. If you play at 1440 and definitely at 4K, the GPU is often the bottleneck and frame rates all level out but the 1% lows will be better with the X3D.

For an extra $20, you could get an X3D processor which would have been great for gaming.
However, that was when the bundle price was $380. The bundle price (as of this time of writing, at $350), is an incredible deal.

The thermalright peerless assassins as well as the CM Hyper 212 (wow, will this heatsink ever die? I got one back when I built my 2600k) are both quite cheap on amazon even at their everyday prices.

I recently jumped into the world of mini PCs and I am loving the quiet and simple experience, but this low price (plus a nearly 50% higher benchmark across the board for everything) are making me want to dip a toe back into BYOPC land after 11 years.

Can anyone recommend a really small ATX case, the smallest that will fit this mobo and a 3090fe? MCs own parts picker rarely describes if the cases will handle a 3-slot GPU (regardless of form factor). Bonus points for no visual nonsense (windows, RGB, LCDs, etc). My OG is a Fractal Define R4. TIA!

Thermalright heatsinks or AIO's on Amazon. They are disrupting the industry

Is there any way to filter out micro center deals on SD? I mean…they're just a tease for us without a store nearby.

Got this combo for my niece. Upgraded her to the Corsair RGB RAM. Paired with a 3060ti. She's coming from my girlfriend's old GTX 1070 + i7 4XXX + DDR3 PC.
