Best sub under $400. I got 2x RP-1400SW for $1400, but if my budget was $700 I would get 2 of these 10s over 1 14.

2 smaller subs > 1 larger sub.

Or, you know, Klipsch actually listened, improved their product lifespan by over engineering it, providing a 5 year warranty, and put it at a price point that any other sub that can compete with its output costs nearly twice as much.

Not much to complain about...

How does this compare to the REL 1205? I bought two REL 1205's. Both DOA with a green to red power light instantly. Waited too long to take it out of the box for any warranty.

ThinkYou'd go 3.5 aux to RCA out of computer to receiver. Then receiver to sub via sub cable.

It depends on what your desktop has available as outputs. If you have a 3.5mm jack output, then I sort of agree with Ben, but you don't need a receiver. You can split the 3.5mm output into two sets of RCA outputs, sending one pair to your desktop speakers and the other pair to this sub. Then you control overall output by adjusting the volume from your desktop volume output, not by any knobs on your desktop speakers or sub.
I run configurations similar to this on a TV with a headphone output and also on a desktop. For 2.1 audio, it works great and saves the cost, space, and setup required for a receiver.

Ah, dang. Got mine at $399. Does Adorama retro price match or are they going to do the return dance?

So maybe? But if you return it, it prob won't be worth it as shipping will likely cost more than the price difference.

Ah I think I was thinking of the 10S MKII but that is $450. But yeah for the price this seems pretty unbeatable if you are primarily concerned with output and want to buy new.
Having experience with both, for me I would go RSL.

Measured output gets a lot of attention but there are so MANY other important factors that also play a role on determining quality of performance with this.

One is placement, it is vital/crucial to find the optimal one(or at least the best).
The RSL has a much smaller footprint, making it more versatile with placement.

The 10S adds some extra features(100 watts, High-pass filter, speaker level inputs, DSP, built-in wireless), if they aren't needed the 10E should work well.

Damn brother, that sucks. But how long did you wait? Still sucks, sorry.

REL is likely better for music but the Klipsch prob has it for HT duties. Assuming the RELs are sealed.

Might be an easy fix though.

Nothing better at this price. 2 can fill in the gaps from a smaller woofer not displacing as much air as a 15"+. 1 would be good, 2 would be better. If you have a large or open space where you use it, then 2 would be mandatory.

These or the RSL 10E for $299? Klipsch is probably a better known brand but I got the impression most enthusiasts would prefer the RSL by a good margin.
At this price point the klipsch is a no brainer. Destroys a single rsl 10e. This is coming from someone who has an RSL speedwoofer 10s mk2 and their bookshelf.

I know lol. I left both REL's in their box about 2 years after 11/2/22 purchase. Took the beauties out and got the dreaded green to red power light as I powered it up. One from an Adorama deal and the other Audio Advisor paid 539 each. Now just sitting in my living room as furniture.

They should still be under warranty. Contact REL, they have pretty good customer service. Ask me how I know. Bought a broken 10-in REL sub on EBAY. Once I received it I contacted them and they sent me a replacement amp. Works like brand new now.

I would suggest reaching out to REL & explain your dilemma.
Worse thing that will happen is a sorry but their CS is pretty good.
Maybe they have an easy inexpensive fix which would be a better way to go imo.
