People with weaker hand strength, older people, arthritis, if you have to do a large amount of pruning any of those and this thing is a lifesaver. It rips through large branches easily. Also helpful if you are in the Dewalt battery ecosystem already.

I've had this tool for 2 seasons now. I'm rather proud that I haven't lost a finger yet. These are incredibly powerful, and make easy work of some major pruning and yard-clearing jobs. Once you see how easily they'll slice through large branches, you'll understand how they can slice through a finger no problem.

Would this work for manscaping?

Yes. Please be sure to drink heavily, and blindfold yourself.

These are also very useful for breaking down branches to put in the trash. I compacted a pine tree into my garbage with one of these; I can hold the branch with one hand while chopping off pieces into the garbage can. Would have been a few hundred cuts with a manual cutter and taken 5x as long. Also cuts PVC pretty good.
I was a little doubtful of this when I bought it, but it turned into one of my favorite (and most terrifying) tools.

This is exactly why I refuse to purchase one.

I'm have a lot of ryobi and Ridgid tools and batteries and nothing DeWalt, so i'm hesitant but this is tempting. any great deals on a DeWalt battery or two? seems like buying the batteries will make this not much of a deal
They make adapters on Amazon that you can use a ryobi battery on dewalt tool just fyi and they also sell knock off DeWalt batteries that work just fine on Dewalt Tools for a quarter of the price

thanks. i checked out the adapters and they look pretty huge. do you have any of the knock offs that you can recommend? i've tried some knock off ryobi and ridgid batteries but found them all pretty lacking.

I'm using the $30 3AH SD special battery, and after cutting enough to fill up two large trash cans, the battery was still showing all lights on the charge level device on the battery. You could cut down a redwood with a 6AH battery.

Cordless pruners are a god send. The time savings alone is worth it. You can rip through pruning without the pain.

Sure be a big man and do it yourself with a manual pruner.

No thanks - once I got a cordless that's been a life changing experience. The Crape Myrtle's alone justifies the cost.

I haven't been able to find anything that says whether DeWalt is an authorized DeWalt seller and if they will honor the warranty for this or if it is worth it to wait for a place that is.

Does anyone have any experience with using the warranty for a DeWalt product purchased from Woot? Thanks!

I picked this up Sunday at Home Depot. They wouldn't PM Woot, but did for Amazon, which is $90. But with my military discount for 10% off, it was only $2 more to buy in store the same day.
ps- I didn't think HD would PM Amazon since it was sold by a 3rd party, so YMMV.
Anyway, this thing is a beast. I have a few mulberry trees and other weed trees that I trim every year. This made short work of it.

Just wondering what is the true use case that makes sense for these?

Pruning shears of many flavors and strengths are so cheap. They are super easy to use. Unsure how power assisted shears are really needed.
This is great on stuff hand powered pruners struggle with. Makes it so easy to trim tree branches where a chainsaw would be overkill. My favorite pruning tool by far. 2a battery gets thousands of cuts.
