Just remember that Gildan "heavy cotton" is really midweight. Gildan "ultra cotton" is comparable to Hanes beefy T-shirts.

Nonetheless, both Gildan shirts you mention run quite a bit boxy fwiw. I stay away from Gildan now. Kirkland signature cotton tees are great, just a bit long..

I'm 5'11 at 200 lbs and I find the costco t-shirts length to be good. Just long enough to tucked them in my pants. So length really depends on your body type.

Agree, I'm not as tall as you but the cco Ts have always been to long for me so I quite buying them years ago.
