Citric acid also works great to clean the dishwasher and remove calcium and lime buildup.

A couple spoons of Tang in the soap dispenser works great and is even cheaper. Advice from the radio shows my dad would listen to when I was growing up. And now you know the rest of the story.

I was quite impressed by this one after I used some other random brands. This one cleaned very well. you used the full bottle with highest temperature cycle.

These never work for me. The bottle remains full after the wash. I must be doing something wrong, or my machine does go up in temperature enough to melt the wax.

This does more than just that. Full sanitizer as odors build up in the drain compartment and hose pump. This real is the only thing I found that helps on all those categories

Make sure you always run your faucet until it's as hot as possible before starting your dishwasher. If you don't, the initial cycle isn't getting hot enough to clean properly, since it starts immediately and uses whatever temp water comes out of the inlet.

I started running my faucet until it's hot before starting every cycle, and I have never had cleaner dishes (or dishwasher) in my life.

This works well. If you have hardwater buildup it will clean it. If you have odors it will clear them. That said, it's own fragrance is STRONG. Like really strong. You'll be smelling it for at least two weeks every time you open the dishwasher and it may permeate your plastic/silicone dishware. I liked it at first but it wore on me and after the second time I did it I was over it. Too strong and too chemical like an odor for me.

Citric acid for all this stuff.. Buy some citric acid - mix it with water and a touch of some dye to make you feel good about cleaning with colors and then maybe add some peppermint oil to make you feel even better about the smell...clean your dishwasher..
