Why is this for Apple only? Wouldn't it work with Android too?

I looked at the Amazon reviews and one reviewer did connect this to his S23 Ultra. Granted he didn't say if he took pictures and stored them to the SD card. He transferred files from his drone to his phone.

I agree with you and don't see why this wouldn't work for Android as well. Especially now that Samsung flagships don't have microSD card slots.

I can envision an even a case solution instead of magsafe attachment where I can insert the microSD and always have it and still charge. Still I have to give credit to Anker for this.

I would really love to upgrade my Galaxy S10 to a newer flagship, but the lack of microSD support is the deal breaker. In lieu of the microSD card, release phones with larger storage capacities...128GB/256GB standard doesn't cut it and I am one of those people that likes to keep all my pictures locally with cloud as a backup.

I'm sure it'd work just fine, it's just designed for magsafe which officially is iPhone only so it's sold as such, although there are plenty of cases that support it for Android. Otherwise it just won't attach to your phone, but that doesn't really matter.

This is an infinite power device. It draws power from the USB-C port and then recharges your phone via Magnetic induction charging.

That is partially true. The concept of Magsafe was incorporated into the Qi2 standard. Therefore it really isnt iPhone only anymore. (However there are not many android devices that support it yet without a case.)

Newer Google phones have Google's version of Magsafe. My Pixel 9 Pro has a magnetic back with a charging coil so I guess this would work. I've been wanting something like this. Great find!

You're being downvoted but I agree.
I won't downgrade from my S20 to a newer phone cause I carry around a replica of almost my entire filesystem on my SD card.

I already have 600GB used of my 1 TB SD card

To be honest it isn't that big a deal with Samsung. You can transfer the files using quick share pretty damn fast. From my S23 to Tab S9 with 520 files (1.3GB) took me about 20 seconds. Assuming you have 100x that it would be about 2000 seconds which is 33 mins for nearly all of the 128GB storage. The Tab S9 has a microSD slot so just back it up there with a cheap 512GB+ card. I got lucky and picked up the Sandisk Imagemate Pro for $20 each.

The main drawback is you can't view them on your phone unless you create a server. Not sure why you need all your photos all the time, but it does suck for games, which is also better on a tablet screen.

I just got mine delivered today. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Works fine as external storage usb device. Threw a 4k video on card and was able to watch perfectly directly from card.

Thanks for the clarification on this, I wasn't aware that it was rolled into the Qi2 standard, that's great to hear.
