Front page deal is back and better than ever from last month almost $20 cheaper after prime card. This ends the drought of no good router deals the last two-three weeks.

https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Du...09&sr=8-18

This has all the bells and whistles your average household will need and also have some for the techie with the 2 X2.5G ports which allows for an enhanced wired network.

This is a way better deal than the Wifi 7 Asus RT-BE58U that was FP for $126, because the TP-Link has 4 streams compared to the Asus 2 streams which means better performance, not to mention port selection is better. Overall this is a fire deal even if you dont have a prime card at the normal $83.74 which is the lowest yet for this router.

Router overall is well reviewed and has good feedback scores on multiple websites.

Lower level model reviewed by Rtings, so this builds and improves on it
https://www.rtings.com/router/rev...cher-be230

Honestly at this price, even using these guys as access points is a steal with the 2.5gbps port, if you dont trust China to do your routing, which is comical to me.

Not at 100ft, not at 80ft, not at 60ft, not at 40ft, and not at 20ft either. Only at 10ft or less and only when the client device is Wifi 7 enabled. Most devices don't support wifi 7. Most devices aren't in the same room as the router. The speeds for further away devices matters exponentially more, because their share of the router's airtime is greater. A device using 50Mbps on the edge of the routers range uses more airtime than a device using 500Mbps in the same room.

That's all I'm trying to say. Have a good day.
Double check interior short range on rting 20-40-50ft all won by TP-Link. TP-Link dropped off after 60ft but not by much...

So just to be clear, if I bought 2 of these, I can mesh them together to extend the wifi correct? Or do I have to buy a different model to make it a mesh network?

Need to be logged into your Amazon account, and it will show up where promos usually show up on the device page, right above the brand/model name and under the delivery expectation. Just checked, its still live.

I have a TP Link MX8500 mesh system with 3 pods that's wifi 6e, I don't want to get rid of it but I'd like to hook this up to one room and have wifi 7 in 1 room. I have a ethernet cable going from my fiber router to the first mesh router and there's 4 ethernet out ports on the mesh router, can I just hook this up to the mesh router and run both routers at the same time? Do you think this router would perform better than the MX8500 in that room? I have 1gbps ul/dl fiber internet.

I ordered one of these last week and got hardware version 1.26. The TP-Link website shows three versions - 1.26, 1.60 and 2.60. Honestly, I don't know if there's much of a difference between versions, but I figured I wanted the one with the highest number as I thought there may have been hardware tweaks that improved the product. So I returned it. Is there a way of ordering one so that I get the 2.60 version?

If the TP-Link would be in the same room as the main MX8500 pod, than you would get pretty similar results unless the item is wifi 7 than you should see a boost but it would not be anything revolutionary, 50-100Mbps more in most cases. The hardware on the MX8500 is good in general and was able to average around 850Mbps with the 6E band around 700ish Mbps 5ghz band with same room performance. As mentioned earlier in the chat the TP-Link with same room performance on the reviews has been shown to pull 950Mbps at close range.

Not when you order online unfortunately, you would have to literally go into a psychical store and check the version on the back or side of the box. Eventually all the 1.26/1.60 will be depleted and only 2.60s left. Not sure what the difference is either, but its usually subtle changes nothing revolutionary. You can sometimes check or find revision logs on TP-Links website that explain the changes. Also forgot to mention some versions or revisions are actually tied to certain regions so not all are available for the same country.

Strong signal, replaced my decade old Asus RT-AC68. Gets at least 80% of what my wired connection gets anywhere in my 2750 sq ft single story house.
