If you don't mind a tall bed, get the 18" bedframe so you can slide 27 gallon totes underneath it.

Yes. 14" Zinus Green Tea mattress does fine with no box spring, and I love it. Look up slat bed frames. The slats are the suspension, so a box spring isn't needed.

I think I've had this same frame for going on 10 years now. Thing is built like a tank. $39 is a steal and a half kmho.

I have it, without the lid I can even slide the 40 Gal with out the lid if you lift the bed a bit

You can have sexy time... but after some sexy times you will have broken the bar across it. It's very thin and also its only held up by little plastic spacers, which defeats the purpose of strength/support when doing sexy time.
