Online research shows at least a 25% failure rate.

Sounds like you need to have some kind of coverage for your protection (CC purchase might provide some but I'm meaning like third party insurance)

Seems like someone said the psu issues were only on one model... like the 77 I think?

If you check amazon reviews, you will see that the 65" is also affected by the power supply issue

According to google AI search:
No, the power supply issue on the Samsung S90D TV has not been definitively fixed. Reports from users indicate that the power supply board is still failing in some S90D models, even after replacement. Some users have experienced multiple failures, with the issue recurring after a repair or replacement.

I had this same power supply issue that existed even with the first generation (the S95b). I would definitely avoid these units at all costs. Had it happen twice. Both suffered a power failure. First one was within 3 months, the second set was a year and a half. Fortunately, it is rather cheap to get the issue fixed through eBay repair services.

I've had the 77" for a month now, no issues. I think someone posted in a previous thread that they fixed the power supply issue.

Fantastic TV, garbage, ad-filled software.

I assume best buy won't price match since it's not technically amazon. The F series is much improved, but the price would be almost triple for the 65.

Lol. The old, "It hasn't happened to me, so it's not an issue" defense.
