100% worked for me. My family uses these for events where phones don't work. Let's see how these things do.

Uses FRS so the range should be about 1-2 miles in ideal conditions, less in urban/wooded/elevated areas.

I have retevis RT67s from few years back, think theyre basically the same thing. Theyre good enough to get front to back on a wooded 80ac property that is ~1/2 mile front to back. I think theyd be good out to a mile outside. Metal buildings, buildings in general, and hills will change that though.

Onn Walkie Talkies have 16 mile range I use those on traveling works very well. This one seems to be only 1 to 2 miles range although the deal is sound the range is less the ones sold at Walmart.

you're definitely not basing that range on the manufacturer's claims, right?

Maybe cruise ships where you haven't paid for a cell phone plan.

Many cruise ships no longer allow any communication devices except cell phones so check the rules carefully before planning on taking FRS or similar. The ones that don't allow them will confiscate them for the duration of the trip.

Cell towers get overloaded at events where it's a unusually high volume of users. Many events plan around that now with free wifi or temporary cell towers so you experience less interruptions. But in any large crowd, I expect my cell phone not to work perfectly.

These are rated at 2 watt output power on high but on FRS/GMRS (Chan 1-7 & 15-22) 462 mhz frequencies. Much better than the half watt old fcc regulatory bubble pack radios that are still sold out there today. Expect about a mile or two in ideal (line of sight) conditions. Buildings and obstructions will lessen range.

Are these with MURS channels? Looking for some for business use that won't have so much cross-talk from other users sound the area.
