The problem with just applying your CB to your balance automatically is you give up that dry powder for when a big Discover deal drops. It'll happen eventually - in the meantime I'll keep hoarding.

You're losing %5 per year sitting on it. Besides when they finalize the merge with Capital One they might force you to cash out to clear the books.
