What caused the prices to skyrocket over the past year? I bought the 12TB for $75 in March of last year, they've got them listed for $180 now.

These are usually drives used in data centers for 5+ years, they are retired because they are closed to the end of their design life. The only refurbishing these sellers do is wiping the data on the drive and the SMART data.

Same, even cheaper that summer. More AI bs from the looks of it, companies are hoarding drives to store everyone's AI slop
