I visited Singapore a few years ago and I fell in love. The more I learn about Singapore, the more I realize how perfect everything is in this tiny island country. The residents are some of the most polite and intelligent people you will ever meet. The safest, cleanest, and least corrupt country you will find. The kindness of strangers is something from a different world. Even the political views that are an equal mix of ideas from the 2 parties you find elsewhere, and the residents seem to be well aligned on their values. If it was practical, I would move there. Maybe if I knew about this place 15 years ago I might have done so. Recommend this place high on the bucket list to everyone who likes to travel. Maybe my only criticism is I was going to pick a country for the best cuisine, I would pick someplace else, but they have a diverse selection nonetheless.

these fares will earn you a whopping 282 PQP, looks like no good if you are going for a PQP run

If you're traveling in Singapore economy, you're not going earn any reasonable PQP, you may as well pay less.

Thanks to this Slickdeals post, I bought a RT from Seattle to Bangkok yesterday. I paid $919, after bumping up one class in economy for $60 so I could pick out seats, then paying an extra $150 each way to buy the extra legroom seats. Awesome! Thank you! Extra legroom seats RT to Asia for under $1K, on a top rated airline? THAT IS A SLICKDEAL!

Singaporean cuisine is one of the BEST things there- great choices at hawker centers to world class dine in places.

Singapore was fantastic, but it would have been more enjoyable if it wasn't HOT AF. If you go, be prepared for humidity and heat. You won't regret have a small rechargeable personal fan.

No, he didn't. I already selected that seat for a first class price. I figured, survival trumps comfort. and I am determined to report back once I am done with the flight.

Singapore is the only place on the planet where they can ban mosquitoes and they obey. Truly.. spent 6 months there and not once used bug spray.

Singapore is also a great place to see the rest of Asia from! Once you're there, cheap flights to Thailand, Bali, Vietnam, China..

Fully agree. English speaking. Honest cab drivers. Great food. Malaysia is accessible on a 1/2 day trip. The bus goes over a small bridge. Great airport. Great airline. We took the original 19 hour nonstop flight from Newark. Business class (ff miles), First meal served was lobster.

Hot and humid as hell.

Thank you for sharing. I myself is looking for a trip to Asia (Japan) and would like to know some details on how you bumped up one class in economy and buying an extra leg room. Were those options offered to you as you were checking out to pay? I have not flown in a long time, so trying to learn as much as I can from you slickdealers. Any tip is appreciated.
