Now these things do work surprisingly well for what they are, but lets not fool ourselves into thinking they are going to send thousands of amps out those thin little wires.
The current rating is instantaneous, not continuous. These jump starters can only provide high current for about 15 seconds, then they need a cool down period for the reasons you mentioned.
I live in FL and had mine for 2 years still going strong. Get it!
But if anyone wants to point me at a model with steady 12VDC output and/or 65W USB-C PD, I'm all ears (eyes?). AstroAI wants you to step up to the S8 Ultra at $49, which doesn't trigger my impulsiveness as immediately.
Seems to be a legit seller, reviews are decent on the store page and Amazon page. Likely clearing old inventory, shipping is slow as well.

~$36 and the wattage checks out on Amazon at least with a buyer bench testing it.

YMMV

Those wires are very short. It would need 100 12g wires to supply that much current at a sustained rate without ever overheating yes. Have you ever looked up how much current a modern computer processor uses over small copper traces on a motherboard?

Store in an insulated container in your truck out of the sun and you will be fine. Other than that try to avoid charging it when it is already physically hot. Just my opinion based personal experience with these batteries. I did have one swell on me do to 100+ heat (left it in the cab where direct sunlight could hit it) but have two others that I never had any issues with years of use.
