If this was any other color, I'd be down for it. But after one trip, I know this would be ruined immediately.

I just gave my awesome suitcase to my kids. Now I need to get one. If I don't want this, what do I want, and what am I expected to pay for something decent? I use it about 5 times per year.

It exceeds the depth and width by about .5" each, but it's 3" shorter than the size limit (19" vs 22" limit). I think this bag will be able to be used as a carry-on 99.9% of the time. It will almost never get flagged for being so minimally over the limit especially with the other dimension being 3" shorter than the max length.

I see bags that are 23" x 15" x 9.5" make it on board all the time.

I wouldn't buy this bag because it doesn't maximize space.. There is still 3" of room it could have which would add about 6-6.5 liters of capacity which equates to about 15% more capacity. 6-6.5 liters can fit an extra 3-5 pairs of pants, or an extra 1-2 pairs of shoes, or extra space for souvenirs if traveling for leisure. As someone who travels for work, this would be a definite no for me..

The size limit is 45 linear inches (W+D+H). Ideally, it should be 14+9+22 like the Samsonite at Costco. This one only measured 43 linear inches and thus does not maximize the size allowed but it exceeds W and D by 1/2 inches to fit the measurement slot infront of the boarding gate.

Pretty good price but do agree the color would be ruined after a couple of trips! Small pet peeve of mine on the hardcases is when you're at the hotel, you can no longer use the folding luggage racks and your bag has to sit on the floor taking up space! yes 1st world problems i know but just somethings to consider! happy travels!
