FYI for anybody reading

Q8: How long can I keep rice in my Zojirushi rice cooker using the keep warm feature?
A: The keep warm feature in our rice cookers is designed to keep cooked rice warm, fresh, and ready to serve and enjoy. However, we don't advise keeping rice in the keep warm setting longer than recommended in your instruction manual as we are not able to guarantee the freshness beyond that point. For most rice cookers, 12 hours is the maximum but check your instruction manual for the accurate recommended maximum time. For longer storage take a look at our blog for tips on how to store rice.

This rice cooker isn't just about the quality of rice. It's about features, and build quality.
First, it has a built in battery. It always keeps the time, even when unplugged.
One can also put rice and water into the machine, and set a timer. The rice will be done at that time.
The machine also keeps track of how long it's held rice with it's keep warm feature. Which, can be used for a long time.
Then there's the build quality. Everything is high quality, well thought out, and easy to clean.
Also, the retractable cord is outstanding. I wish all of my appliances had retractable cords.

It's a fantastic cooker albeit not an IH, but about as good as you can get in this price point. 300 is wildly expensive as a base price but honestly I've had mine now for 10 years and it works great still

The zojirushi takes longer partly because it soaks the rice by default. You can choose quick cook and it skips that step, I think.

Well... okay, here's one.

You could buy nearly ten $18 induction rice cookers for this price. If this makes 10x as much rice, or the rice is 10x better, get this. If all you want is reliably cooked rice that relies on physics rather than artificial intelligence to do what folks have been doing for centuries - cooking rice - then consider something simple like this:

I wonder if they sell better pots separately...
They do, but expensive

I'm militant about only ever using silicone tools in the bowl, mixing, scooping ect. To preserve the Teflon layer.
Once it's scratched it starts to break down

I have this machine, amazing. will never cook rice by another method.
Even the brown rice turns out good. Something I could never get right in a pan.

I have this cooker and love it, but will admit that 10 cups is far too large for 1 person, or even 2 people unless you are eating a lot of rice

We've had ours so long that the coin battery that maintains the clock went dead, and I replaced it about five years ago. The battery was soldered on to the circuit board, and I replaced it with a battery carrier. I should be able to use it for a couple more decades.

I only have a cheap aroma but not sure how one could be 15 minutes vs 50 unless the type of rice was different or the amount of it.
I used to have a Zoji but I felt the same way. It just takes too long to cook rice. But I have no desire to keep it warm for days on end either.

I've had mine for 15 years now, only ever used the plastic paddle that comes with it, not a hint of a scratch on the teflon layer. It's not like it's a frying pan or something, you shouldn't really be doing anything in there that would cause the teflon to get scratched. Put rinsed rice and water in, scoop cooked rice out with paddle.

Hmm very tempted! Any reason why I wouldn't want this?
The internal battery is reportedly not user-replaceable.

Thanks OP! Excellent deal. I have had a Panasonic fuzzy rice cooker for 12+ years and it cooked the best rice. I hope this one beats it. Also combine it with AMEX $40/$100.

I don't see a reason not to buy it if you like rice and have never used a fuzzy logic cooker. Once you had this cooked rice, you'll never go back.
