Thanks, looks like this is faster than the Amazon Basics one that is currently on the frontpage.

What makes you say this is faster than the FP Amazon Basic?
Looking through benchmark pictures in the review section they both have results all over the place, and what seem to me to be fairly similar in mediocre performance.

I've had 3 of these and never came anywhere near 400mb write speed and I've also never had one last over 2 years so I buy Sandisk thumb drives now and haven't been disappointed yet.

I bought 2 and arrived yesterday for backup from USB. This drive is very slow when transfer from USB to USB. The speed is .7-5MB/s. I wouldn't recommend it, unless you don't mind waiting for 1-2 days or your old stuff run on older flash drive only. Will return....

i can't believe these drives still exist. they have been terrible since the very first version. you will inevitably lose your data with these drives. considering how many options we now have, no one should be using these drives.

I have several (very old) drives with capacities of 32, 64, and 128 that use this same design. The 32 is the slowest of the bunch and it has performance comparable to the amazon basics one at 40 write, 95 read. The 64 and 128 both write at 100 and read ~190. The 256 may or may not be faster than the 128, but performance wise the 128 is much faster than Amazon's, though maybe not the quoted 400. For the same price I'd take the PNY for sure.

I've also had zero failures, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You will never get close to these speeds. Real write speed in the 10MB to 20MB. Read speed is about 100MB to 150MB

I've owned the 64gb version for many years. This is a good deal imo. Here's my CrystalDiskMark result:
