It says it can only hold a 32gb sd card and does loop recording in 3, 5, or 10 minute intervals? Not sure if I'd be able to get much use out of it that way.

If it is 1080 the 32 GB card will hold around 5 hrs of video recordings in 3, 5, or 10-minute segments. It will loop and record on top of the previous recordings after that. What makes this thing useless is the huge 4-inch screen. I prefer cameras with no screen or the smallest one possible.

Well it doubles as a backup camera presumably for an older car without one, in which case you need a decent screen

Valid point. If that thing is installed via a suction cup users are likely to have to reinstall it every day due to the weight and it falling down. I wonder if people need to interact with the screen each time they back up.

Someone scratched my car a couple of days ago in the Walmart parking lot (my car was parked, and I was shopping). So, I was planning to buy a dashcam that has parking monitor feature. I noticed that it has Motion Detection and Built-in 150mAh battery.

No, I have some noob questions:
  • Do I need to hard wire the dash cam to my car for using motion detection feature?
  • If I use the motion detection feature will it drain my car battery?
  • I already have a dash cam which only activates when I start my car, but my plan is to monitor the car when unattendant. will this dashcam serve the purpose?
