Wouldn't it make more sense to buy new, rather than refurb and take advantage of the 30% tax credit for less money ?
A single new V2 is $560 not including tax, after credit.

I don't think I've ever read that a refurb would be ineligible. With the way it is reported on the tax forms there's no reason I can think of why you could not do it... This is in contrast to the EV credits where the dealership has to submit information to the IRS.

LG has a 400v home battery storage system. Scary to work on, but higher voltage equals smaller wire for the same amperage, and greater conversion efficiency. 48v is not going away anytime soon, the same way USB-A is still around. It's ubiquitous, and it's less likely to kill you if you're working on it with sweaty fingers.

I would imagine that since they're refurbs, the tax credit has already been applied for by the OG buyer, so the Fed wouldn't let another credit happen again.

First, there's nothing in the law or the forms that say anything has to be new to qualify. Second, how would the feds know that whatever you're applying the tax credit for is refurbished / not new? You don't provide serial numbers or anything like that.
Okay, I was wrong. It does say it has to be new and can't be used. Whether refurbished is considered new or used by the IRS might be an interesting debate.

Usually they're used as energy storage as part of a solar system. So the excess power the solar panels make in the day charges the batteries which can then power your house / RV / Cabin when the sun isn't shining.

They can also be used as a whole or partial house battery backup. Charge them from the grid and use them to power your house when the grid is down. Or charge the batteries at night when your power is cheap and run your house from them during the day when electricity is more expensive.
