My favorite mass produced pen which has outperformed most (except gel, but, they have their own smudgy drawbacks).
My only complaint is that they eventually break at the plastic part since the threads are plastic so if I buy 12, I'll eventually be scavenging parts between them long before they run out of ink... so I consider at least four a loss right off the bat. Good price, regardless... one pack for me.

F-402 or F-701 pens are all metal options and will last longer than these plastic ones.

This deal is worth it for the refills alone IF blue is your thing.

F-701 is such a great pen. Nice enough people won't just steal them, not too dearly priced to replace if you lost them. Feels like something Jason Bourne would use, just in case.

You must be carrying your pens in the front pocket of your jeans. That's the only time I've ever had the threading at the grip break.

I won't buy any other pens. Always F-301, always fine point (but in black ink only). I've used these pens for literally decades.

The F-701 is a great pen using the same refill, and the barrel grip is all steel, so it won't break there. But on the other end, the clip retainer that screws into the top? That little sliver of black at the top you can see? That's plastic, and will strip and/or break far too easily.

I want an all-steel pen that uses this refill. Or an F-701 with a brass clip retainer.

The fine point F-301 refill is the best in the world, by far.

No need buy pens when work has them for free. Its part of your sign on package. Kinda like re-charging your phone in their outlet or using their toilet paper, paper towels, & microwave to re-heat your food.

Mostly front pocket of a utility shirt. It's not like I looked at it funny and it fell apart... It would usually take months. But I had a bunch of red, black, and blue plastic pieces on the wrong pens over time and it was always the same failure. I definitely should have tried the 701 back when I was going through these more frequently.

I first got turned onto these working in the engineroom in the Navy. It was the only pen that came close to holding up for the length of a deployment... 40°F in the Gulf of Alaska? It worked. 100+ degrees in the Persian Gulf? It worked. Writing at a 90° angle? Worked every time. Writing upside down? Most likely it worked. They really are great pens.

I've never seen any pen come close to this one's elegant design and longevity. But I'll take the F-301 compact hehe

I am a cop and carry them on my vest and have been in several fights with them, etc. I have never had this problem.

These are my favorite pens and were my go to during my almost 10 years as a server and well after as I went into 'corporate' work and sales taking notebooks full of notes. The black always held up and the blue ALWAYS broke at the threads. I didn't treat them any differently or store them differently but the blue plastic is always weaker and breaks. I sent a comment to Zebra and they send me a coupon for some free pens, but those also broke. I've written the ink out of countless black pens but only a few blues because of them breaking and since it is the same part, I couldn't scavenge to salvage them.

For this price I might grab a box because often prefer blue ink, though seeing other recommendations I might expand my trials to an all metal one.
