Under Q&A, it states the dash cam has an internal battery for backup power. Be advised that in high heat areas, that battery will likely die out.

If the price drops during prime day(which u highly doubt), we can order a new one and return it as this one.

Grabbed it and here are my first impressions - works well and has a large lens covering area, it uses USB C for power, the WiFi is just needed to manage the mobile app and to download media to your phone. Haven't tested it at night but noticed didn't do well when I turned off the lights in my garage, even though it claims to have night vision. Again for $40 is a no brainer to get started and getting to know what a dash cam brings.

How do you guys with dash cams hide away the wire connecting it to the charger? For me that was a problem... also the camera kept falling off. (Not this dash cam but similar one... looking to try again with this one so asking)

I have no use but for the price, why not?

I have 2x mini805 that's been working flawlessly on our cars for the past 10 years. I replaced the battery on both of them once.

If your car has an electronic box above the rear-view mirror, then you can probably hardwire the dash cam and hide the power supply in the ceiling. Most cars have auto dim rear-view mirror and/or garage opener where you can connect the power via a separate relay for safety.

I don't trust the suction cup to withstand the scorching triple digits and the cam is most likely to fly during an accident.

If possible, find a way to secure the cam with hardware. Mine are bolted to the electronic box above the rear-view mirror.

This is worth highlighting. A solid capacitor is 10000x better than any sized battery. It adds to its longevity and durability in extremely high/low temps, whereas a battery can only detract from both. And as we all know, the inside of a car can become sweltering when it's 80°+ outside.

If you need an accurate time stamp get a unit with GPS. Otherwise your time stamp will be wildly off. I am not sure if this is or is not a potential legal issue. Just sharing my experience with both GPS and non GPS dash cams.

If you do purchase the subscription on top of this it comes with a GPS Assistant and Timeline as well.

I bought an adapter on Amazon that connects to the rear view mirror for power. It's a little box with a USB port to power the dash-cam.

I stuff the wire along the the interior liners that meet the roof and side pillars, then feed it behind and along the dashboard to reach the charger. The wire is typically long enough and there's usually enough of a gap or flex in the liners to make doing this possible.
