Just go with an Apple Watch. This is ridiculously priced for an outdated tech.

Why you comparing it to apple watch? This is not smart watch. This is fitness tracker with some smart features. Now try not charging apple watch for 2-3 weeks on the hike and see what happens

You have to admit, many of the differences are intentional choices for different target audiences and applications—analogously, Kindles can't be said to use e-Ink over color OLEDs just because they're old!—but I agree, this price is ridiculous.

For a Garmin, it's not that expensive.

i bought this watch last year for 40 dollars more than this deal. moving on from an apple watch, the fact i only charge it every 2ish weeks with every possible thing on and notifications like crazy blows my mind. this color isn't my cup of tea, but its a great watch and i don't think i could ever move back to a traditional smart watch

And how accurate the data is? The reviews when used as polar chest strap as reference frequently shows apple watch is more accurate.

It's like having over 40 days of battery life, unlimited if you are in the sun enough.

If you want a fitness tracker that can do GPS/compass/altitude/flashlight that also gets notifications and amazing battery life then buy this.

If you need a smart assistant, color maps, music and calls directly on your watch then get something else and be prepared to charge it every 1-3 days.

The 2X is an awesome watch. I bought it explicitly because I rarely ever have to worry about charging it. I payed $300 for it which for me is a ton of money for a watch and I would say it's easily the best watch I've owned.

Also buy this to turn any USB C cable into a charger for your watch:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5R6XMP8
(don't get an L shaped one, the straps on the 2X will obstruct the cable)

This screen protector works great and does not block the solar function:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C4QDNQ9Q
(Garmin says screen protectors may void warranty, crazy)

I have the non solar instinct, I love it. It's on me 24/7 only getting taken off to get charged every eleventeen+ days. The calculator type screen was the real draw for me, everything else was a huge bonus. The watch is as tough as can be. The day that this one dies for good, I'll move on to the solar version.
