Would be nice if it would extend current members an extra year after original expire date.

I used to buy a lot of things from Best Buy; once they stopped selling 4K UHD movies, I haven't been in the store except a couple of times.

It doesn't say new members only, so theoretically maybe?
My guess is that you need to have the membership lapse for a certain period until you are eligible again. Just like the free month of Amazon Prime etc. I ended up renewing anyway as I saved about $275 from Total related sales and didn't really make any AppleCare claims.

Can you cancel immediately or do you have to wait until the year is almost up? like if you cancel right after getting it is it still good for the year?

Who still shops at BestBuy and has their credit card? Unicorn customer.

As much as it surprises me, I have loved shopping at Best Buy the last couple years, they have gotten a lot of my old Amazon shopping when they carry the product.

Their price match is super simple, and if the price changes after I buy it, they refund the money quickly. With Amazon the few times I have tried they tell me to pound sand, or send it back and buy it again. Best Buy is just like, sure, here's your money back on your card.

I have the membership also, got it during a similar deal like this. We bought one of those neck AC things when we were in Florida, and we just went back to Florida and took it, but it seemed to have died at some point. I took it to BB, and within 5 minutes they had given me a gift card for the value of the unit. They would have just exchanged it but the store didn't have the model.

I dunno, lately they have been really impressing me. We do have their credit card also, but we got that like 15 years ago when getting a TV. Can't say I would be likely to sign up for it again if we didn't already have it is they haven't been doing as much for CC people like they were for a while with their 10% coupons.
I had similar experience, I also have the CC from more than 10 years but I do not have their paid membership.

They do send quarterly 5% cash back offer on few categories where you can choose from, this is great as you have option to choose the category which is not offered by Discover & Chase for that quarter.
Also they sent offers like shop certain amount outside BB(which combines with above quarterly offer) and get rewards 5-10 % back. Also mystery offers.

Only issue I have with BB is not able to use these rewards for GC purchases and not able to apply partial amount from the reward certificate if your order is less than reward total amount.

I was curious as well. I asked support, and they said it ends instantly, so if you get this, it's a good idea to set a reminder on a calendar to cancel it before it auto-renews.

stopped using BestBuy anything when they got rid of the Gamer sub or whatever it was called. 20% off new games plus $10 certificates, I had never given them so much business for so many years during that time.

Total is only useful if you get apple stuff from Best Buy.

It's just like people only own the credit card because they bought appliances there.

No other reason for anything else

I also ended up with a bestbuy CC and membership when I was GPU shopping (faulty open box 4080 -> 4070 ti super which led to me getting the membership to extend my return window -> 4080 Super FE on release), and honestly I do a lot of my shopping through them as well now too. If its something they carry, chances are I'll go through them. TVs, headphones, my recent garmin watch, appliances, all positive experiences.

I have never seen a quarterly 5% category option.

What does the offer look like in case I missed it?
I've also never seen the 10% CB outside of BB, but did get the $40 for setting up two outside recurring payments. Recurring didn't trigger, so I just charged it normally and they still gave it to me.

I love Best Buy but to say you get your refunds quickly is disingenuous. Whether via phone or chat, getting a refund is a war of attrition with their CSRs while they validate the competitor's price or look up your previous order. Yes, if it's valid, it gets approved, but sayonara to 15 minutes of your life. My favorite: "while I verify this price match for you today, may I ask if you are having a good day?" "As soon as you give me my money, I will be."

While it does sometimes take some time, I don't see 10 or 15 minutes as me being disingenuous. It takes a lot less time than shipping stuff back and waiting for the new product to arrive.

Plus, you often don't have to do that if the price change is on BBs own site. When you go to Order Details there is a price adjustment button and it will automatically issue the refund for the difference.

Otherwise, I think you are being a bit overly critical. If all it takes is 15 minutes of occasionally looking at the chat to see if they have responded to get $80 or so back, it doesn't seem that bad. I don't know what you envision the alternative being.

Fair. In my view, since we're paying $180/yr and the policy is the policy, if the price match request is valid, it should be one click and a confirmation/rejection email for refund or instant verification for competitor match. Don't forget about the chat or phone wait/hold times. I missed out on a price match for a one day sale because the wait time was 45 min, which went past the time CSRs were available. I have been a Best Buy defender since forever because I overall like the company. Total Tech $200, now the $180 sub, but the price match system is trash.

Me, because I keep getting $20, $50, and $100 reward certificates for basic purchases outside of Best Buy, far higher than CB% on any of my other cards.
