The 5070 Ti has an MSRP of $750 but is retailing for typically $830 or more. The rest of the parts here are easily worth $900. I would say it's a pretty good deal.

Not thrilled with the upgrade pricing here on the RAM and storage though. The upgrade pricing to 5080 is also bad but that reflects the insane fact it's selling for $400 over MSRP at retail. The 5070 ti is the way.

Proprietary:
Case
MOBO
PSU

Everything else is updatable/Upgradable. The brands themselves will be whatever Dell has available. My 2024 build came with sk hynix brand Ram and SSD. Dell produces their own GPUs which are generally solid.

Or maybe another $50 for 16GB to runs 4 sticks at JEDEC specs like Dell does.
This model only has 2 slots for RAM.

I'm sorry, I am not trying to come off as rude. I thought you were the one who posted the link to the two ram options.

So essentially for gaming you want 6000 speed, CL30. Jay 2 cents and Linus have both done videos on it and come to the same conclusion
Is there any good deals for 2x16GB at 6000 speed?
Also every time i am looking for RAM i need to look for the "CL30"?

"This is not a deal. 6400 CL38 is junk like the 6000 CL36 people keep posting."
Thats a statement by another user from a different post but am posting here too so i can understand better!!

Genuinely learning... I thought as long as the speed is 6000 or higher is all great? Can anyone explain what Latency means? What is the ideal speed or latency I need to get to be set? Also what would be a good deal? Thank you so much in advanced.

The Radeon RX 9070 XT, which has similar performance, is currently $712.98

Thanks for the write up, really informative. That kit link it says is for their new area 51 chassis. Do you happen to know if it will work on the auroras like from this post? The Aurora was redone a few years back and it is a solid chassis now, stays super cool, not sure if everything you mentioned above applies to this as well or was all in reference to the new area 51 chassis.
My apologies - I went back to the link at it appears that the kit only works for the Area 51s. I'm not sure if it works for the Aurora or not. In fact, this review (a previous gen, mind you) looks like Alienware is or was using a proprietary motherboard in the Aurora R16:
https://www.cnet.com/tech/computi...test-pick/

In that case, you'd need to take that into consideration. Proprietary parts aren't the absolute worst thing in the world - like I said, I know guys who had Alienware systems that worked fine until they upgraded simply due to age - but whether or not it's a deal-breaker or not is up to you.

Sure, if you ignore DLSS features and just look at frame rate at a given resolution. Personally I am willing to pay *much* more for DLSS because image quality is paramount.

FSR 4 is better than DLSS 3 and close to DLSS 4.

Yes, if we want to compare AMD's latest FSR 4, which very few games support, to Nvidia's older versions of DLSS then it's comparable!

But you also forgot to mention that FSR 4 has a significantly higher performance penalty than DLSS 3 (see: Digital Foundry comparison).

Since the goal is to get the highest image quality at a given level of performance this makes the comparison invalid. DLSS gives the best image quality with small performance penalty and the most broad-based software compatibility.

And we haven't even talked about other DLSS technologies like ray reconstruction or frame generation.

FSR 4 is ahead of DLSS 3, and most reviewers have said as such.

In terms of performance penalty, FSR 4 is shown to be more expensive than DLSS 3, but close to DLSS 4

https://www.techspot.com/articles...-image.png

FSR 4 can be enabled in unsupported games using Optiscaler. It's an unofficial solution, but it works.

RDNA4 supports single-frame generation.

Ray reconstruction is coming to RDNA4 with the FSR Redstone update.

Essentially, Latency means the "lag" or "wait time" from when the memory controller requests information to when the information actually becomes available. Thus, for latency, you want it to be as low as possible.

When it comes to speed, like "6000MHz", it refers to how fast data can be read and written. The higher, the better. If you have an AMD build, there are concerns that sometimes there are stability issues when you push very high numbers. Intel builds handle the max speeds very well.

When purchasing, make sure if you have an AMD processor, your RAM should be EXPO compatible. If you have an intel processor, you will want to make sure your RAM is XMP compatible. The words EXPO and XMP refer to overclocking. Although it may seem scary to overclock, it is actually expected that you should overclock your RAM. When a RAM stick says that it runs at 6000MHz, it WILL NOT run at 6000MHz out of the box. You need to go to your BIOS settings, and turn on EXPO or XMP (depending on if you have an AMD or intel processor). When you enable EXPO or XMP, you are essentially "overclocking the RAM" to get the speed labelled on the box.

So when it comes to buying, generally, the more you spent, the higher the speed and the lower the latency. Like anything, there is a point of diminishing returns. Right now, it seems like the sweet spot is 6000Mhz @ CL30. I just purchased the Gskill M5 6000MHz with CL30 3 weeks ago at newegg for $99, it was a 32gb kit (16gbx2) white color. Very happy with it, and looks great in my build. XMP enabled and no issues whatsoever.
