I personally don't but if you read the other posts for the same tablet, a lot of users actually do. I'm still rocking my S7 plus 512GB and happy 😊 with it.

There's DEX mode. You can plug into a monitor, and it works great like a normal computer. Miles above something like a chromebook. Then you have portability when you need it. Obviously it won't compete with things like gaming computer.

Love mine! Use it every day. Its big enough to use the google sheets to track various things and in landscape its big enough to have 2 apps side by side no issues.

Fantastic battery life as well.

The only thing i dislike is that the 14" model doesn't have 5g.

I ended up just skipping 5g this gen and getting by on wifi and hot spot from my phone.. not a huge deal

Can DEX mode run Chrome plugins or Linux? I thought so.

Install Kiwi browser. It supports Chrome plugins. We get it though, you're not a fan. Doesn't mean for some people it isn't a viable laptop replacement.

I replaced my Apple MBP w/ an m3 air for $450, and with ipados upcoming and stage manager RIP the apps are better than on the PC. One benefit is that my media workflows (its better to edit w/ a pen anyways) are like 80% cheaper on ipad than PC and with 4k out who cares now. The rest of my workflow is GWP so that is all browser based, and the occasional game is fine. I still have my Tab S9+ which is great (esp the form factor) so I am not getting rid of it but DEX lags compared to what Apple has been doing and in a few months they will pass them by. Even my S24u DEX is meh. I actually tried using that instead of a tab w/ a portable monitor, too crappy. My biggest beef w/ Android tabs is lack of apps, and apps that are just built for phones. The catalog is not there, esp for creative. If it were I would be in.
With google getting hostile w/ ads, I won't ever buy another chromebook they are dead to me now, so it seems resurgence in tablets coming.
But keep buying PC to keep my app prices low!.

I don't have an EDU or EPP capable email, but using my AAA discount brought the total (w/ Trade In) to $679.99 pre-tax. I bought a $15 tablet off of eBay, and can get $400 trade credit. Pretty decent deal!

Which REAL users replace a laptop with a giant awkward to use tablet?? Somebody convince me please.. Half A$$ Tablet half A$$ laptop neither purpose is served...
average laptop is 13 -16 inches, this falls in the middle. A large majority of laptop users are mainly browsing the web, using an office suite, and/or watching media. This fits the bill well especially since you can still do multiwindow multitasking, with a slightly thinner form factor. The oled screen and hdr support beats out some budget laptops too.

This is a great deal. I have the S9 Ultra and have no complain, still run like new the day I bough it. S10 Ultra is just a minor upgrade. DEX mode is helpful if you into that. I mainly use it as a media device, and the screen is perfect for that.

I was finally able to replicate despite the fact I'm not a first time app user. Kept it in my cart since yesterday morning. Today during checkout the price decreased by $50 and I found the breakdown that a promo code was applied. Total $694.36 taxes included in MA. Moonstone grey S10 Ultra 512GB. Thanks OP.
