I tried the demo set at my local Sam's club recently. There's nothing going on your ear so I just wiped it off and tried it out. It's amazing what the bone conduction can do. I'm a believer now.... Looking for a set!

'"regular" audio'
Why not just say air conduction?

I have the openrun pro 2 and also the regular openrun. The pro 2 do have a small speaker and generally sound does leak. But it's more comfortable to use in the sense you don't feel the vibration in the skull. You definitely feel them on the openrun, and although it's not too harsh, some may not like it. I tried the bone conduction-only setting on the pro 2 and the vibration was even worse than on the openrun. To the point that I wondered whether during regular use do the pro 2 even use conduction? Cause I don't feel anything normally but the conduction-only mode is very vibration heavy — so much that I couldn't use it. The regular openrun are more of a midpoint between the regular mode on Pro2 and the conduction mode on Pro2.

My biggest gripe with both these is that the regular size is too big. The band extends too far back that you can't use it with any chair having a headrest. This is a problem when using it in my computer room since the chair has a headrest, and also in the car. Or it'll interfere with your clothing, like a jacket. And of course you cannot use it while lying down. I realize both models have the mini option. But it's mostly the regular ones that go on sale. Both times I bought mine the mini was retail price while the regular size ones were on sale. So it wasn't worth picking the mini. But I do wonder now whether I ought to have picked up the minis.

I feel most people will fit the minis better. The other ones are really for people with a large head or ladies who would prefer using it over their hair. It's just a shame the minis are rarely on sale.

Agreed. I have a very large head (XL helmets for most sports), and I'm tempted to borrow a Mini OR2P to see how they compare to my Regulars after a few hours. Unfortunately ski season is done for the season, so I won't have that opportunity for months.

can anyone tell me if there is any bone conduction or not?
i tried this locally, all i feel is just having a small speaker point to my ear directly. and thats it.
When my friend try it, i can still here it outside.

dont get me wrong, having something not blocking ear is great. just that bone conduction feels really just like a selling gimmick.

I tried with earplugs in a noise environment and was really low .for me it wasn't bone conduction like oldest ones

Did you use the app to make sure you had it on "classic" ie pure bone conduction mode? When I do that it seems louder with earplugs than without.

It's off by default. You have to set the EQ to "Classic" to activate it.

This is a good deal, but I keep pointing out to people at normal price ($179), It is better to get the OpenSwim Pro rather than this headset.
The openswim has onboard storage plus bluetooth. It is also waterproof and can be used for swimming

This made sense when comparing the previous OpenRun Pro. The Pro 2 speakers are a noticeable improvement over the previous gen.

Have a set of these, great for snow boarding so you can still hear people around you and still enjoy some jams.
