You can go in and turn off the nightnight so there is no reflection, assuming it's an area with some light at night
You can also hang them upside down and flip the image in the recording
But I noticed even if you turn off the microphone, it still picks up the microphone when you check it through the app so yeah they are probably sending your audio back to China
You can put tape over the mic hole though
Also, TP-LINK is one of the only cameras that doesn't have a still image URL that is easy to view, all my other cameras you can check via browser but not TP-LINK even after all these years
there's a trick to grab a still from the video feed via FFMPEG but most people won't have the skill to do that
Literally TODAY, TP-Link suddenly laid off its entire Wi-Fi chip team at its office in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park - EVERYONE responsible for overseas product for the US.
So yeah, no one should be considering a TP-link product in 2025.
