Samsung's launch trade-in deals are garbage. Just wait a few months until they go on a massive sale.

Seriously, cover your butts.
I used to thing people were exaggerating with statements like this, until after it happened to me.
If you have the storage to do so, make a recording of the trade in device showing the condition, and then go into the settings and show the IMEI for the device, and then kick off a factory reset on the recording and let it finish.
I did all of these things and thought there wouldnt be problems. Like 2 months later I get a email with no way to fight it saying I sent a device which wasnt factory reset and thus the trade in was null and void and I was on the hook for like $400 dollars. I reached out to Samsung and shared my video showing the trade in people were liars, and they eventually reversed the nonsense.
But had I not had that video, it would have been their word vs mine, and I would have been toast. Sneaky Sneak little trade in contractors. Be careful.

It would have to be a damn good or insane trade in for me to mess with Samsung trade ins again.

Doesn't matter if all goes well since you will get a credit for the bill and cancel the service without a penalty.
How can you cancel service without paying a fee?

I've done 4 and had no problems either.
I have done maybe 5 or 6, and they tried to deny twice claiming the package was empty. After confronting them with pics/videos, they quickly approved. I think there is theft involved somewhere in the chain. Just take pics/videos in case. They didn't ask for the pics.

I may be wrong but I think the opinion that launch deals are garbage and that prices will go down if you wait is outdated and now half wrong. The deals are garbage tbh, especially compared to years past (ie flip 4 to 5 was just $100 at launch). But they're also the best you'll likely get. I've watched every launch over the past year and a half or so, and it's quite rare that a better offer comes along at any point. And it's usually about a year before you see anything even comparable to the reservation deal. Personally I'm a z flip convert since the 5 launched. The Fold upgrades this year look so appealing that I might have to make that jump, but honestly not sure I can go back to a large phone. Once you get used to the flip from factor, it's hard to go back to anything else. This year's flip looks ok, but I'm not sure it's worth the upgrade. I might consider switching to the razr ultra if Samsung again failed to improve the cover screen usability from this good lock/tile nonsense.
I got the flip 6 for $189 with 5 trade in a couple months after launch. It was $350 at launch. Overall I have been happy with flip trades but I think I am about done unless they bring back the old deals. The flip is a one year phone so they need good trades to keep it going.

If you cancel within 3 days activation, Verizon will waived the activation fees and prorate the bill. BUT, people were having mixed results. After activating and completing the phone pay off, you can chat/call Verizon and they will issue a credit, adjust the bill. Some people were having issues with getting a credit or having the activation waived. Some reps are good, some not. I tried multiple chats before having all charges go away.

This comment doesn't deserve a thumbs down. It's true and everyone should cover their rears by following this advice. Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it won't.

Any rumors on what would make this stand out compared to old folds? Form factor? Camera that can rival the ultras?the trade in deals are getting worse and the value of upgrade for the cost is going down. not worth doing this on launch anymore
Been following rumors since the 6 was a disappointing upgrade from my Fold 3. Rumors are it'll be:

Front screen will be 6.5 inches, equivalent to a S25 Edge or a slightly less wide S25+ so it'll be a normal wide front screen finally. Inner screen will be around 8.2 inches in actual dimensions diagonally but most likely be marketed as a 8 inch inner screen, bezels on both screens will be slightly shrunk by 1mm which is nice. They're finally will be upgrading the cameras with the main S25U sensor and apparently AI will make it better (whatever that means). Will be the thinnest foldable on the market at 8.9mm which is insanely thin. The only things that may disappoint people is the battery will be literally the same with the same 25w fast charging which sucks and they're removing the under display camera (UDC) because of a pending lawsuit so there'll be a hole punch visible on the inner screen now. Also seems like there have been battery life problems on the S25U after some software update so be wary in the future but I'm not too caught up on that. Seems like a great overall upgrade besides the battery but the Snapdragon Elite chip has been excellent in many phones, this is ultimately what people have been clamoring for the last few years.
