However, the perk for this is the relatively low (5k) spend to get the 100k bonus. The $500 in Chase portal credit in addition to the $300 travel credit (on the statement) pretty much zeros out the AF in the first year - with the caveat that the $500 travel credit is a one-shot deal (must be used completely) and can't be spread out over multiple transactions.
This is more of a benefit card if you want to shuffle points between accounts, use them as transfers/get transfer bonuses, and/or frequent the airports with Chase lounges (BOS, PHL, LGA,JFK,PHX,SAN) but find yourself flying coach w/o top airline status. Chase/Centurion/Venture lounges are, generally, a substantial step up from the Priority Pass lounges, though even the CC lounges get busy later int he day and you could find yourself locked out.
The rest of the credits are nice, but I've looked into staying at some of the hotels on The Edit list (like St Pancras in London) and the $250 credit is practically rounding error on the room rates in those locations (unless you find them at a deep discount).
A final advantage might be in allowing you to book direct with a 4x point match vs 2x for CapOne (VX offers 2 points on every transaction). You can probably get cash back at the usual suspects to make up the difference, but it's nice not to have to hope a click-through gets recorded in an amongst the reservation juggling.
