The Surge is awesome, just get it. I am just going to sell my M18 Fuel impact since I have yet to find a fastener the Surge has failed on, if it is a bolt, I just grab the new M12 Stubby. I like the Surge a LOT more than the M12 Installation Driver too

I had the M12 fuel drill/impact and have the M18 fuel drill/impact. Got a good deal on the M12 surge last year and sold my M12 impact. So glad I made that decision. It's phenomenally quieter, easier on the ears. 95% of the time I use the M12.

Also have the ratchet and often use that. Great deal and if you don't need the batteries or ratchet sell those and you're looking at a small cost to keep impact.

+1 on surge. Really handy and so much quieter.

It is not as good a deal, but you can get the surge kit for $179 with a free tool (ratchet). The surge+ two 2.0Ah batteries = $97.69 and the ratchet 81.31....dor those that may want to jack vs. deal with reselling the ratchet.

This lower power ratchet is surprisingly useful and the only nonfuel tool I recommend. Sure the fuel is more powerful but it still won't break everything loose with motor only and it wont fit in as tight of spots. Only the impact ratchets have real power and they are massive.

Surge is much quieter and has more fine control since it is hydraulic. You sacrifice a lot of power so most people that get the surge use it for all the smaller inside/finesse jobs.

OK cool. Thanks. I just scored the m12 fuel hammer drill & impact with a 2ah and 4ah battery HD hack for $138.00. Amazingly small and powerful tools. I'll probably just keep those.
