Good thing I returned my P31 2TB when I bought it for $90 back in 2023. However, I still have the 256GB variant that came with my gaming laptop and haven't noticed anything all these years.

There were tons of deals on SSDs in general a couple years ago, due to the NAND glut. I don't know that I'd consider Solidigm a new company. That brand was the result of SK Hynix buying Intel's NAND division. Neither of those two companies are new (or small players). I'm not defending the drive in question, however many SSD models end up with serious issues. Samsung drives were a mess a couple years ago.
