There is absolutely no universe where this normally retails for $302.

I would agree with you, though I presume HD may have sold this set for $302 at some point. In any event, I think $99 is slick for an impact wrench kit (w/ 2 batteries and charger).

Brushless isn't worth $100 more but I also wouldn't buy anything not brushless. Total scam not a good deal

I plan to build a lean-to shed. Will this drill be good for that kind of work? If not, which one would you recommend?

It's not a drill it's an impact wrench. For tightening bolts not driving screws

Good starter impact. Picked it up on BF years ago. You will run into things it won't budge but then it's just time to get the 262 model.

you can add 3/8 drive to 1/4 hex adapter to make it a drill

Read it more carefully, the second deal mention isn't $100 more for a brushless. It is $100 for brushless AND one addtional 4.0 Ah battery (and all are HP batteries).

The 3/8 is badass. I took apart my lada's engine with it.

It will still drive screws. Though it's overkill for that and if they're not careful they can damage the screw/work surface.

This is an impact wrench. It's used for nuts and bolts. Often it's for removing stuck fasteners, as you might have torque specs when tightening things up.

Framing is usually best accomplished by nails, as they are cheaper and deal better with sheer forces. If you are subject to building codes, nails might well be required. For this, you would use a hammer.

I'm all for learning and DIY. But if you're asking if an impact wrench is suitable to build a shed, you might need to do a bit more research before you start this project.
