Valuing a 3-day/2-night trip to Puerto Rico at $7,415, even with $1,700 in spending money, is out-and-out hot garbage. $5,715 for two people for that short amount of time is mind-bogglingly high. That's an ARV that doesn't have any sense of reality whatsoever.

round trip flight ~$700pp x2
hotel ~$400/nt
ground trans - 4 trips ~$500total?
concert tix ~$500? x2
spending cash $1700

= $5,000 on the high end is my estimate, but I estimated for the cost of the concert tix which could potentially be much higher (or lower) and ground transport which could be much higher depending on the vehicle and distance (limo vs uber vs 70-seat bus for all winners?). The hotel could also potentially be much higher if its a really nice hotel...

Your ground transportation estimate seems very high to me. The concert tickets could be anywhere...you're right about that one. I would think that the airfare would be closer to $500pp, and I suppose a truly high end hotel could clock in at $400 a night, but even that seems high to me.

Considering the tax burden for the thing, I still say that the stated ARV seems ridiculously overinflated.

Thanks, guess I'm documenting costs if I win and filing adjusted return. Assuming they don't change the taxes to actual costs
