Same reason they sold it under Amazon Warehouse. They do it when it has an earlier expiry then normal or damaged packaging

These use to be $1/pack on sale at Costco a couple years. Inflation hit these things hard.

Ordered a couple of them to send with my daughter to college. She loves these and it's an easy option that's better than fast food.

these are pretty good. I'm not a vegetarian so I like adding some canned tuna or something for extra protein, but this + microwave rice + some canned protein makes for a very hearty lunch in 2-3minutes for ~$4-5 total

Chickpeas are another option.

I like to add 1 or 2 sunny side up or over-easy eggs to this. Great additional protein and flavor combination.

FYI I could eat the Lentil version of these everyday! I often picked them up at Costco when they were on sale.

BUT, just received the Chickpea version and tried to eat them...YUK! The Chickpeas are WAAAAAAY undercooked and it kind of ruins the entire meal...

Hope this helps!

Copying my comment from another post on the same product - These things are not that great tbh. If you want better tasting versions with significantly more choice, go to your local Indian store (Look it up on Google Maps, there should be a few in any decently sized sub-urban area). It will open up a whole new snack/ice cream/drinks universe that you didn't know existed.
