The Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF is a current gen 20-core (8p, 12e) 20-thread cpu on the lga 1851 platform. As an arrow lake cpu, it is not affected by any of the instability/degradation issues of the previous generations. In most respects the 265kf performs fairly similarly to the previous gen i7-14700k (it's moderately faster in productivity workloads, but has slightly worse gaming performance when paired with lower speed ram), but the 265kf is drastically more power efficient. In fact, the 265kf is not much worse than its amd zen5 competitors such as the 9900x in terms of efficiency. While the lack of an improvement in gaming performance is unfortunate, unless you have a gpu with at minimum rtx 5080 level performance the 265kf is more than sufficient. In terms of productivity, it depends on the workload (zen5 slaughters intel in avx-512 for example), but the 265kf is generally slightly ahead of the amd r9 9900x. It absolutely crushes any single ccd amd cpu in terms of multithreaded performance. In terms of gaming the 265kf is usually just about on par with non-x3d zen5 cpus on standard udimm ram, though with fast cudimm ram it can actually end up a fair bit faster depending on the game. The 265kf does NOT have an igpu for display output, you will need a dedicated gpu. It likewise doesn't support intel quicksync (hardware accelerated video encoding/transcoding), so if that's relevant to you it might be better to wait for a deal on the 265k. A cpu cooler is NOT included.

The ASRock Z890 Steel Legend WiFi is a solidly midrange full size atx z890 (high end chipset) motherboard. Arrow lake is the first generation on the lga 1851 socket, but unfortunately it's currently looking like future cpu generations won't be on lga 1851, only arrow lake refresh. This motherboard supports overclocking, and has a frankly overkill 18(80a)+1+1+1+1 phase vrm. Storage support is rather good, with 4 m.2 slots (1x gen5, 3x gen4) and 4 sata ports. There are built in heatsinks for 3 of the m.2 slots. Pcie expansion is acceptable, it has 1x gen5 x16 primary slot, 1x gen4 x16 (x4 mode) slot, and 1x gen4 x4 slot. Connectivity is quite good, it has wifi 7 + bluetooth 5.4, and 2.5 gigabit lan. Usb connectivity and overall io is rather good, and it has two thunderbolt 4 type c ports. There is a hdmi 2.1 port but no displayport output, (not relevant with this cpu, since there's no igpu), but you could always use one of the usb c ports in displayport alt mode. The onboard Realtek ALC1220 is a major step up over the realtek alc 897 you'll usually find on more budget oriented boards.
Motherboard specs here: https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z...cification

The included ram being only 16gb with 8gb dimms is a fairly major downside, 16gb is still grudgingly fine for most gaming and standard use cases, but 32gb is generally optimal. The ram specs themselves are fairly good though, ddr5 6400 cl32 is decent and should be using hynix memory chips, which have excellent overclocking/tuning potential. You could technically purchase another of the exact same 16gb kit to run in a 4 dimm (two 8gb dimms per channel) configuration, though that can be quite finicky even at xmp speeds (stability issues may occur) and drastically cuts overclocking potential. I'd personally recommend selling the included kit for ~$40 and getting a cheap 32gb (2x16gb) ddr5 7200 CL34 kit for ~$100. Or, if you're comfortable with manual overclocking/tuning, just purchasing the cheapest 32gb hynix ram kit you can find (generally ~$80).

Overall, if the lack of an igpu isn't a dealbreaker, this combo is a very good value. It's theoretically possible that with amazon prime day and newegg's "fantastech" sale coming up there might potentially be better deals (and it's always possible another newegg pc builder flash sale will come along), but in terms of value this deal sits firmly in the upper echelons of combos that have been available over the past year.
Bad argument: you should do it because everyone else is doing it.
Not saying Intel is better, I'm saying your reasoning for why people shouldn't buy this is awful.
Most folks don't take advice about "AMD vs Intel" from soneone with "Ryzen" in their name.

There's no such thing as a bad product, just bad pricing, and at this price, this is probably one of the best deals out there.

Its a little light on ram for a modern build, I would suggest just getting the second set of 16gb sticks now, youre going to want them. With DDR4 manufacturing ending, a lot of demand will fall onto DDR5 and the price could go up.

The deal editor appears to have made a major error in rewriting my post for frontpage by just copying over information from a previous deal. The motherboard should be the ASRock Z890 Steel Legend WiFi, not the ASRock Z890 Pro RS WiFi that the frontpage edit of this deal lists. Refer to my original post (linked below the incorrect rewritten frontpage post) for the actual deal. Could a staff member / deal editor / mod please fix this?

It's still showing up as $351.98 for me in cart. Make sure to follow the instructions in my original post to add the steel legend wifi motherboard to cart, NOT the pro rs wifi. The staff rewritten post for frontpage is incorrect, they just copied over from a previous deal.

Follow the instructions in my original post to add the steel legend wifi motherboard, not the pro rs wifi. The deal editor made a mistake when rewriting the post for frontpage and put the wrong motherboard. The price with the proper motherboard will be $351.98 in cart.

Star Wars Outlaws alone is worth the $352, gameplay is right up there with Death Stranding 2...

I was playing around with a bunch of different options yesterday and I ended up going with the ASUS Prime z890M-Plus, I then added another 2 sticks of the patriot ram to go with the 2 free sticks so I'll be running 32gb, added the MSI Spatium 2TB M.2 SSD came out to $525 after taxes out the door paid $562. I'm happy with the price I paid since I already have a 3070TI and a 750w PS. Will be a huge upgrade for me since I'm coming from an i7-7700k LOL. Should hold me over for at least the next 5 years for under $600 but I'm sure I'll upgrade the GPU a lot sooner.

most smart people are not buying sIntel CPUs these days.

for your future flexibility and liability, ppl choose Ryzen CPUs.

AM4 is still going strong while AM5 is getting popular.

KF you need a GPU...

I don't why this is getting down voted but top 10 CPU sales on Amazon are all Ryzen series. Numbers speak for themselves

Showing higher now. I think NewEgg raised the prices of the individual items, but kept the $100 ($50 each) discount. I'm seeing $512 before tax - $100 = $412 before tax
CPU - $251.99
motherboard - $259.99

still includes the RAM and Outlaws Gold game
