The performance of one of these, to begin with, isn't great. I bought one on sale a few years ago for $10 and for that price it's been a great product. But I also use a nutribullet that I find myself going back to often because it's more powerful and doesn't leave unground particles in my smoothie. In terms of quality, it definitely doesn't feel as high quality as nutribullet but hey it has held up for 2 years of light usage, so it's not junk either.

At this price though, if you can find a Nutribullet for a slightly higher price and I've seen Nutribullet pop up for $50, I'd recommend that instead.

They sure have. Any tiny blender is actually. I switched back to a MagicBullet for $30 at Marshall's. The Nutribullet was $40 and smaller.

Quality has definitely gone downhill on these!
I ordered one and it "over-heated" in less than 60 seconds while blending a smoothie.
I returned for a replacement and same thing - returned that one too.

I have a couple of old ones that are close to 10 years old and they are still chugging away.
They started to leak so i just bought some replacement crossblades.
Hopefully these old ones will never break down.

That's with just about anything nowadays.
I purchase a KitchenAid Pro Line Series toaster and returned it.
$249 for plastic !!!
Kitchen-aid items used to be heavy solid products that lasted for decades.

Gotta pull that ever-increasing profit from somewhere. And if sales aren't going up, that means it gets squeezed out of the product itself. Repeat every quarter for infinity until company dies.

Yes, these are poorly made but do have a purpose. To get the most life out of them, never run more than 1 min continuously. If you have to run more than that. Take 20 - 30 sec interval breaks where you lift that thing and run a table fan on full speed and point the base towards the fan. This will help cool the internals and prevent premature burn out of the motor.
