Instapots can be more versatile as it has the stainless steel inner pot. However, this Cuckoo is more specialized for rice cooking. Although you can, technically use it for other food types similar to Instapot, it's probably not recommended. This brand is one of, if not, the most popular brand in South Korea.

Because of the size. Some people prefer their counter tops to be manageable. 6 cups are usually more popular and fits a family of 4 perfectly.

Is this comparable to induction cooking and fuzzy logic with Zoji?

To those who have this can you confirm if this is made in Korea? I'm tempted to return my Cuckoo to Costco.

I've never used one, but from all I'm reading here, this looks great. I don't need 6c, but hey, why not.

As rice is my staple food 30+ years .. my word of advice should you take it .. pressure cooking rice to save time is the worst idea and the only better way I see and learn is to allow it the time it takes to cook in a normal rice cooker or open pot cooking.. it's your food and it's what fuels you. Don't believe psi trash AFAIK it's for tires not rice!!
I'm interested in brown rice cooker, I was using my IP and rice is eatable but always sticky
I thought the best is the Induction plus pressureodels from cuckoo or Zojirushi, do you recommend only IH instead? If yes which model ? What's your preferred cooker especially for brown rice

I can't comment on Zojirushi or expensive cookers

I ate brown and unpolished in the past as well and I always prefer to cook in Aroma rice cooker and preferably with in SS inner pot with few drops of ghee or butter to make it non stick. Always the key is the water ratio and experiment with it till you like the bite of it.. I was always told to eat that is not too hard or bite kind of cooked rice as it will be heavy lift on your internals.

If I need to buy a new rice cooker, I probably will buy a low cab, low sugar cooker instead of regular rice cooker.

Any inputs on this vs instantpot?
Too small to use the pot-in-pot method. IDK if Cuckoo has 5 psi setting which I use often but 26 psi is way too high for many foods.

Instant Pot Pro 6 qt accommodates a 2 liter titanium backpacking pot for the covered pot-in-pot method. Allows for fast dry roasting or gentle heat for delicate foods like fish.. One can use glass but the thin titanium transmits heat instantly and its featherweight is addictive.

P-in-P greatly enhances the versatility and user satisfaction of I.P. No cleaning since the food doesn't contact the I.P, and the steam doesn't touch the food unless you leave the inner lid off.
Ends the need to clean I.P. Eliminates burn error and burnt stuck on food.

Can reheat a frozen burrito w/o it getting soggy. Make a perfect poached egg, Reheat frozen foods. Best method for I.P rice, oats, grains and small servings.

You can look it up for their various models on their site under Product Specs.

Yes, labeled on the box and printed at the bottom of the control panel "MADE IN KØREA".

I'm tempted to get rid of my Instant Pot and buy this (or something similar). I only use the Instant Pot for rice and hard boiling eggs anyway. Has anyone made that same swap and regretted it? The instant pot makes serviceable brown rice but not fantastic… and it is kind of a pain to clean and let dry out. The cook time of ~20m is nice though.
I too was using the insta mainly for rice. Switched to the highest model of zoji. The pressure induction one. Got it on ebay open box for 250. I've leveled up my rice making game even though I'd been doing great rice in the isnta. The induction pressure cooking rice makers are the way to go if you're looking for perfection.
If you cook rice once in a while and can't tell the difference between instant rice and cooked rice then you should not bother with a smart rice cooker. One of the 20 dollar ones you find at Walmart will be good enough for you
